There are various types of energy auditor certification. The only two that are globally identified and recognized are BPI certification and RESNET HERS rater. To become a HERS rater, one must complete a 50 question, 2 hour exam with a final score of at least 80%. To become a BPI professional, one must complete a 100 question, 2-hour exam with a final score of at least 70% out of 100%.
